Rest In
Peace Rural America is a collage
of knowledge, experience, and wisdom that Charles L. Ciancio
has absorbed throughout his 40-year career with Forestry in California.
The author shows how citizens, especially those living in rural
areas, are affected by the often-blundered decisions of a non-elected
Fourth Branch of government that resides over the land. These
decisions are meant to be positive, but they are made without
careful study or expert testimony being reviewed.
The author points out results from decisions that have been made
by the Fourth Branch. These include California's Department of
Fish and Game damaging hundreds of miles of streams through their
stream cleaning projects; a man being fined $3500 for moving tadpoles
to safety from a backyard pond; The northern spotted owl fiasco
unjustifiably hurting people and rural communities; 1400 acres
of California land used for a concert that only Palo Alto citizens
could attend; A man owing $750 in fees to move a few dead logs
off his own land; Four firefighters dying as a result of being
refused access to water from a river inhabited by protected fish.
These are just a small portion of what you
will learn from reading the pages of Rest In Peace Rural America.

To Potential Reader:
While the book "Rest In Peach Rural America"
focuses on what is happening in Rural America, it also covers what
many middle and lower working class folks are experiencing in many
different walks of life.
Those who run this country (upper level leaders and media groups)
are insulated and do not come in contact with many things the middle
and lower working class folks live, work, and experience. The book
provides simple, truthful information about things that are being
missed and about many good things that are being lost.
Whether it involves airport security issues, illegal immigration,
unaccountable judicial actions, mishandling of taxpayer funds,
selective enforcement of laws and regulations, lack of using factual
and experienced professional input in making laws and regulations,
or permit approval abuses, the book describes a commonality about
these and many other issues that directly affect all of us. There
is a lot of nibbling around the edges of legitimate regulatory
accountability problems, and this book helps to expose and put
these problems into focus.
Instead of just sitting around complaining or going fishing, I
am working to confront the presented problems as illustrated by
writing and publishing this book at my own expense. Any help in
contacting others with a similar interest will be appreciated.
