Federated Women in Timber Meeting

First established in 1976 to provide a voice for the families of those dependent on the forest products industry for their livelihood, California Women in Timber (CWIT) was the first grassroots group in support of the forest products industry and sound forest management.  CWIT has since grown to over 500 members with twelve chapters throughout California.

CWIT members promote the social, environmental and economic benefits of assuring the forest resource for the future.  Whether members are working with schools and other educational institutions to promote a positive image of the forest products industry, staying actively involved in local community activities, or participating in public hearings and communication with local, county state and federal legislators, CWIT is an informed voice on natural resource issues critical to everyone.
